A space where you can relax and be soothed by the local atmosphere of Sunabe and the warmth of wood

The shop is located just a short walk from Sunabe Beach, a popular spot for surfers and divers. The vintage American vibe that radiates from the exterior has me excited even before I step inside.

The interior features natural wood furniture and soft sunlight streaming in through large windows. It offers a unique, comfortable atmosphere that blends “island time” and the “feel of Hawaii”—a space that’s sophisticated yet somehow soothing. With parking for 15 cars, it’s a great place to stop by with peace of mind while out for a drive.

Many foreigners living in the area have been coming here since early morning, making it feel as if I were abroad.

This acai bowl is perfect for a hot morning in Okinawa. It’s nice and cold, and the fresh sweetness of the fruit combined with the crunch of the granola creates an exquisite balance. It looks gorgeous, too, and really refreshes your spirit. There were three base flavors to choose from: chocolate, nuts, and matcha! You can also choose your own toppings.

Chatan Town, Okinawa Prefecture | MORNING DOORS Morning Café | Hawaiian Cuisine | Sunabe

I’ve been living in Okinawa for 18 years now, but every time I come to Sunabe, I can’t help but wonder, “Is this really Japan?” MORNING DOORS is a place that embodies Sunabe’s “overseas-like atmosphere.” The staff and the foreign regulars are all so friendly, and it feels like it’s becoming a cherished place where I can recharge. I wholeheartedly recommend it for its early opening time at 7 a.m.—a treat for early risers—and its uncompromising quality of Hawaiian food!
