Travel to Okinawa and Information on Hotels, Restaurants, and Sightseeing by Couple

I wrote "cafe," but "coffee shop" might be more accurate. Instead of "ocean view" in katakana, "feel the sea" in kanji and hiragana might be more correct.

Hamanabe-no-chaya" will be in business for 30 years in December 2024. Today, ocean view cafes are scattered throughout Okinawa. The pioneer of such cafes is located in Nanjo City in the southern part of Okinawa's main island.

Beach Teahouse Report

At high tide, the ocean is almost directly below.

As the name suggests, there is a small wooden house on the beach. This natural coffee shop blends in with nature. At high tide, the ocean looms just below the windows, and at low tide, the beach can be seen, offering different views at different times of the day.

The restaurant, which will soon boast a history of 30 years, has a now nostalgic atmosphere from when it first opened.

The best coffee is drunk while listening to the sound of the sea breeze.

I love this chiffon cake. Keep in mind that drinks are about 700 yen and food is about 600 yen.

Review of Okibara

If you are heading there with your car navigation system, you may be asking yourself, "Is this the right road?" but it's okay. LOL!

There are many ocean view cafes in Okinawa, but it is rare to find one so close to the ocean. There are terrace seats, seats under the shade of trees, seats on the beach, and inside the restaurant, and if a seat is available, you can choose your favorite spot depending on your mood that day.

We are sure that many people will continue to love the beach teahouse as a place where the sounds of nature can heal both body and soul!
