Blue Cove Terrace 2, located on Irabu Island in Miyakojima City, Okinawa Prefecture, opened in 2020. The rooms are clean. Perfect for active travelers—each room comes equipped with a washer and dryer (including detergent) and a mini-kitchen!
Although you can't see the ocean from here, it offers easy access to tourist attractions and beaches, making it perfect for long-term stays. It's the ideal base for exploring Irabu Island and the surrounding area.

The Hotel's Atmosphere

Here's what the exterior looks like. It has such a simple appearance that I almost walked right past it.

The lobby is decorated in pink and blue. You might want to take some photos. This is a contactless hotel where both check-in and check-out are handled via touchscreens.

Guests can help themselves to amenities and kitchenware. There are also vending machines inside the hotel, so there's no need to go outside!

Guest Rooms

The room is 30 square meters, so it’s quite spacious. It’s cool and comfortable!

What I appreciate most is that there’s a washer and dryer inside the room. I love that I don’t have to leave the room. The bathroom and toilet are separate. There are also two sinks. The bathtub is about the same size as one in a typical home, so you can stay here as if you were living there.

Breakfast

For breakfast, we left the hotel and went to Shokusai-tei Mutsumi (a steakhouse) next door for a buffet. It felt just like breakfast at a typical diner! The menu was simple, but if you’re planning to spend the day sightseeing and eating plenty, this amount is plenty.

Notable Features

In the hotel lobby, there’s a map painted on the wall with information about local attractions. Why not hold a little strategy session and ask, “Where should we go today?”

With a kids' room that the little ones loved, the ability to check in and out at my own pace, kitchenware rentals, and vending machines inside the hotel, everything was set up so I could comfortably stay at the hotel—though I did have to go outside when I got a little hungry!

My Thoughts on Okibura

When we stayed there, there were already a few of our followers staying at the hotel. One of them said, “You can’t see the ocean from the hotel, but as a base for sightseeing, it’s very affordable, comfortable, and convenient—so it’s great value for the money!”

We completely agree. We’d definitely recommend it for families with children. During the off-season, there are packages starting at around 5,000 to 6,000 yen per night, including breakfast, and even during peak season, rates are around 10,000 yen.

I’ve said this many times, but after spending the whole day playing at the beach and coming back to the hotel completely exhausted, I thought having a washing machine in my room was “a godsend!” It’s so efficient—I can take off my clothes, put them in the wash, take a shower while they’re running, and then go to sleep.

Also, just a few minutes from the hotel, you'll find "Nakayukui Shoten," which is famous in Miyako for its sata panbin (sata andagi), and there's also 17END and Watari-guchi Beach, so it's super convenient!
