A Ryokan in Downtown Naha, Enveloped in the Quiet of the City Center
Although within walking distance of the Prefectural Government Building and Kokusai Street, the Naha-Kume area has a quiet, laid-back “downtown” atmosphere. “Pro Style Ryokan Naha Prefectural Government Building” stands harmoniously in this peaceful setting.
The front desk and lobby offer a sophisticated space with a New York flair. In the lounge, you can relax with a glass of Okinawan sake in hand. Although located right in the heart of Naha, the hotel offers an “escape from the ordinary” that feels somewhat like a residence abroad. Amenities were placed at the front desk, and guests were expected to help themselves to as much as they needed. (Stayed during the COVID-19 pandemic)
Stay as if you were living there. Guest rooms featuring a modern Japanese style and functional beauty.
The guest rooms feature a modern Japanese style with Ryukyu tatami mats. The beds and furniture have rounded edges, making them safe even for families with small children. Although the space is compact, it offers a level of comfort that seems to combine the best of both a hotel and a home.
The interior is dotted with Okinawan-inspired design elements throughout, and I was particularly impressed by how comfortable it was—a perfect place to truly “recharge” between sightseeing stops.
The bathroom has a separate tub and toilet. The hand-washing area was incredibly spacious and stylish.Rejuvenate in Naha. A private sauna open by appointment only
The private sauna, reserved exclusively for overnight guests and day-use visitors, is a space where you can experience the luxury of quietly “rejuvenating” right in the heart of the city. I wasn’t able to use it this time because my schedule didn’t allow it, but I understand that advance reservations through the official website are required.
It’s rare to find such an intimate sauna in Okinawa. The facilities really made me want to come back and try it out next time.
