The appeal of art experiences made with marine plastics
TRUE BLUE begins by learning about marine debris and environmental issues. In particular, learning that Okinawa is the region with the second largest amount of marine debris in Japan and its impact on the environment naturally raises awareness for environmental protection. After that, participants made lampshades, accessories, honey wax wraps, and other small items using recycled marine plastic. The one-of-a-kind items will be completed with your own unique design, making them a perfect souvenir or memento of your visit.
Learning and fun to change children's attitudes
The children who have experienced TRUE BLUE have found that learning about environmental issues in a fun way has led to changes in their behavior, such as starting to pick up trash at the beach. Visiting on a family vacation is sure to be a special time of discovery for parents and children alike.

Attraction of TRUE BLUE that I felt when I visited
I participated in the lampshade making experience! First, there was a session to learn about marine debris, and we were surprised to learn that there are hidden problems even in Okinawa's beautiful ocean. After that, we completed lampshades designed with recycled materials. I was very happy to be able to create a stylish and practical item! I heard that some families come to experience the workshop for their children's free research. After the experience, the children picked up trash on their own. I almost cried when I heard about the experience.
