Park your car at Parking Lot P1 at the Prefectural Shuri Castle Park.
First, let’s park the car in the underground parking garage at Shuri Castle Park. The maximum daily rate is 800 yen. If, by any chance, the garage is full, there are plenty of coin-operated parking lots in the surrounding area.

Shuri Kinjo-cho Cobblestone Street | Charming cobblestone paths and traditional red-tiled houses
Located just a short distance from Shuri Castle, this cobblestone street is a charming thoroughfare that dates back to the Ryukyu era. The round stones lining the slope, along with the traditional houses in the surrounding area, create a scene that evokes a sense of nostalgia. It’s about a 5-minute walk from the Shuri Castle Park underground parking garage!

Shuri Castle Park | A World Heritage Site Where You Can Experience the History of the Ryukyu Kingdom
After checking out of the hotel, head from downtown Naha to Shuri Castle Park, home to a World Heritage Site. As you explore the Main Hall and castle walls—currently under reconstruction—let your imagination wander to the former glory of the Ryukyu Kingdom. The park is spacious and features a wealth of historic structures and scenic viewpoints. There are also restaurants and souvenir shops. It’s relatively quiet in the morning, making it the perfect time for taking photos.

Shuri Horikawa | Lunch at a Popular Local Okinawa Soba Spot
Since it’s a popular spot, I want to go when it opens at 11:00 a.m. or sometime around 11:00 a.m.! Their light-flavored Okinawa soba, made with carefully prepared broth, is a favorite among both tourists and locals. The mild-tasting homemade tofu is delicious.

Umikaji Terrace | A Resort Mall with Stunning Views of the Ocean and the Airport
The last place I’d like to visit is “Umikaji Terrace” on Senaga Island. It’s a resort spot with a wonderfully open atmosphere, featuring a row of white buildings. Spend some time strolling through the stylish shops and dessert stores while enjoying the sea breeze. You can spend your time however you like—playing on the lawn, heading to the beach, and more. It takes about 30 minutes by car from Shuri Castle Park, but we’ve planned for a smooth rental car return.
