Okinawa Agu Shabu Shabu Shabu Mitsuhisa Honke is located within walking distance from Kokusai-dori in Naha. Here, you can experience their special shabu-shabu using Okinawa agu pork and seasonal island vegetables.
The style of tasting without dipping sauce but with condiments such as "Yagaji Island salt," "Tamanaha miso," and "Okinawan shikwasa pepper" is a new discovery. In addition, the staff will assist you in cooking for the first 30 minutes, so you can enjoy the food while learning about the charm of the ingredients and Okinawan culture.

Shabu-shabu, a simple taste of Agu pork and Okinawan ingredients

Mitsuhisa Honke's shabu-shabu is served without dipping sauce, but with Okinawa's special condiments.

Yagaji Island salt is rich in minerals and is perfect for enhancing the sweetness of agu pork. In addition, "Tamanaha Miso" and "Shikwasa Pepper" are also available, giving each bite a different flavor.

Shabu-shabu is served not only with meat, but also with about 20 kinds of Okinawan vegetables. The vegetables include island carrots, green papaya, and handama, which are not usually eaten, and the chef will suggest condiments that go well with each.

The staff will tell you about the appeal of the ingredients and Okinawan culture.

Staff members are also available to assist with cooking for the first 30 minutes.

Not only will you learn the best ways to eat meat and vegetables, but you will also be given explanations about where the ingredients come from and Okinawa's food culture, making you feel as if you are on a gourmet tour of Okinawa. It is a fun, hands-on dinner where you can learn about Okinawa while enjoying your meal.

Traditional Okinawan cuisine and a special closing menu

Shabu-shabu appetizers include traditional Okinawan dishes such as "jimmy tofu" and "kubuiriti.

The "jimmy tofu" in particular is a special one, made by only two people in Okinawa. It has a strong peanut aroma and a smooth texture.

Kubuiriti is a local Okinawan dish made with kombu (kelp) and recreated using a traditional recipe.

The "Okinawa soba with Ginoza potato noodles" to close the meal is made with noodles kneaded with potatoes, a specialty of Ginoza Village. This special dish can only be found in a limited number of places in Okinawa.

Special desserts loved by the royal family

The after-dinner dessert is also a special dish that cannot be found anywhere else.

Accompanying the ice cream made with Okinawan ingredients is "Shahana Kippan's wax gourd pickled in honey". This was a luxury dessert that was only available to the royal family during the Ryukyu Dynasty, and even today it is a special sweet that only one person in Okinawa can make. The sweet and crunchy texture matches perfectly with the ice cream.

I thought "Mitsuhisa Honke is a shabu-shabu like tour" because you can enjoy Okinawan ingredients to the fullest and learn about Okinawa!

The Agu pork shabu-shabu is served without dipping sauce, but with salt, miso, and shikwasa pepper, so the taste of the ingredients can be felt directly, making it a completely different experience from other shabu-shabu I have had.

From rare island vegetables to Okinawan soba noodles, a closing dish that can only be eaten in Okinawa, to desserts that even the royal family used to eat, all of them can only be tasted here. The staff's commentary on the dishes made it possible for us to enjoy them while learning about Okinawan food culture.

Private rooms are also available for larger groups, making it the perfect place for a special meal with family or friends.
