Travel to Okinawa and Information on Hotels, Restaurants, and Sightseeing by Couple

I visited VIVOVIVA Ishigakijima, which will open in March 2024. Of the 98 rooms in total, all the first floor rooms in the Ocean Wing (East and West) building have private pools. The private pool has a luxurious view of Taketomi Island and the ocean. It takes about 30 minutes from Ishigaki Airport by cab. It is about 5km from the hotel to Ishigaki city center. It is also convenient to go to the remote island terminal and Fusaki Beach by car or cab.

Hotel Atmosphere

Entrance. Shisa and others welcome you. On a hot day, it is heaven because you will be cooled down the moment you enter this place.

The design is reminiscent of the ocean. The card key is placed in a holder and hung from the neck. I wish all hotels in Okinawa would adopt the holder type. I wish all hotels in Okinawa would adopt the holder type.

From the front desk to your room, you will leave the building once and take a walk. On the way, you can take pictures of the scenery like this!

All suites are over 50 square meters. We stayed in the Ocean Wing Standard with Private Pool (1st floor ocean side). Being a condo hotel, there is a simple kitchen.

The vanity is so spacious that "it's easy to do my makeup!" she was very pleased. The bath is also large. There is a washer and dryer on the right side of the room (detergent charged). We also go to the ocean and sweat a lot, so having a washing machine in the guest room is really helpful.

The best thing is the view of the ocean and Taketomi Island from the private pool. There was a lawn and a pathway between the pool and the ocean. It would be nice to take a walk there in the evening.

Outdoor swimming pool

You can exchange it for the welcome gelato you received at check-in at the bar next to the outdoor pool. Was it seeker-sour and milk? It was quite delicious. Maybe the taste changes at different times of the year?

The water garden is built in front of the guest rooms, which is sometimes the case in hotels abroad. Guests staying on the first floor of the Forest Garden building can enter the pool directly. There were families and couples enjoying themselves in the water garden. However, guests and pool users may see each other, so it may be awkward for those who are concerned.

The restaurant serves as a dinner and breakfast venue. There is a good variety of food available, buffet style.

We ate a lot of food because we had a lot of sightseeing to do in various places during the day. Personally, I liked the fact that there were about five different kinds of brown sugar to put in the coffee, each made on a different island. It was fun to choose which one to put in my coffee.

VIVOVIA Ishigaki Island offers luxury car rentals at the hotel to make your trip more luxurious.

This was Son-chan's first time driving a foreign car. She and I both kept mistaking blinkers and windshield wipers until the very end.

Review of Okibara

The best location to see Taketomi Island and the sunset while enjoying the private pool. If you are planning to stay overnight, we recommend the Ocean Wing building with a view of the beautiful ocean.

There is also a gym and an esthetic salon for those who want to spend an elegant daily life and a luxurious holiday. The store had a tremendous amount of Blue Seal ice cream!

As you can see on the map, this hotel is relatively close to the city center and the ferry terminal, and it is easy to visit sightseeing spots in Ishigaki Island such as Kabira Bay and Ishigaki Yaima Village.

The bus stop is located 300 meters from the hotel (get closer!). I'm sure you can find a car rental place in the city. Also, there is a cheap car rental company right in front of the hotel, so you could rent a car there.
