THE GARLIC SHRIMP is a garlic shrimp specialty restaurant located in Onna Village, a resort area in Okinawa Prefecture.

I met the owner through a single e-mail. I drove out to the restaurant when I received a call asking me to try their food. To be honest, I thought, "Is he just trying to get people's attention with his appearance?" But I was struck by the owner's overwhelming devotion to his shrimp. The taste is a matter of personal preference, but we found the garlic shrimp here to be quite tasty. Foreign customers also rate it very highly.

Shrimp with a crunchy texture and garlic flavor.

It is located beyond the Hyatt Regency Seragaki in Onna Village, Okinawa, on the way to the Halekulani. If you are a first time visitor heading north, be careful, as it is easy to miss the left turn. If you pass it, just make a U-turn at the convenience store or the like just ahead and you will be fine.

The parking lot can hold about 15 cars. Since the number of customers may suddenly increase depending on the time of day, park as close as possible to the parking lot. Many people take pictures of the exterior of the building, so please be considerate of others.
(Current business hours are 11:00-18:00 (closed Tuesdays). Business hours shown in the photo are different)

You can eat and drink inside the restaurant and on the terrace. Pets are allowed on the terrace! When you go to the terrace seating, you will see an illustration of a shrimp, which is also the logo of the restaurant, and many people take pictures here.

Google reviews showed that some people said they went there three times during their stay in Okinawa, or that they just happened to go in and eat there and it was so good that they came back the next day. There was an American who ordered garlic shrimp and garlic beef at the same time and ate it all by herself, and a Korean female customer who had it once and enjoyed it so much she ordered another one on the spot.
