Two resort hotels in Yomitan Village, Okinawa—Grand Mercure Okinawa Zanpa Misaki Resort and Hotel Nikko Alivila/Yomitan Resort Okinawa—have launched a free shuttle bus service that stops at tourist attractions in the area.
With the aim of further enriching guests’ resort experiences, new offerings that allow guests to fully enjoy the area’s attractions will be added to the cross-resort access program operated by “Grand Mercure Okinawa Zanpa Misaki Resort” and “Hotel Nikko Alivila/Yomitan Resort Okinawa.”
"Grand Mercure Okinawa Zanpa Misaki Resort" (Address: 1575 Aza Uza, Yomitan Village, Nakagami District, Okinawa Prefecture / General Manager: Jiho Kang) and “Hotel Nikko Alivila / Yomitan Resort Okinawa” (Address: 600 Gima, Yomitan Village, Nakagami District, Okinawa Prefecture / General Manager: Koichi Nakajima) launched a mutual access service on Saturday, July 20, 2024. This program, which allows guests at either hotel to use the restaurants, facilities, and services of the other hotel, has been well received.
With the aim of further improving customer satisfaction, a free shuttle bus service operating between the two hotels—which stops at three tourist attractions in Yomitan Village—began in January 2025. Due to its popularity, the service period will be extended starting Saturday, February 1.
Background of the Offering
While we offer services that allow guests from both hotels to use each other’s facilities and various amenities, we also wanted guests to experience the charm of Yomitan Village itself—not just the hotels—so we revised the shuttle bus route and began operating it in January. Based on positive feedback from guests who used the service, we have extended its operation beyond February. As we enter a season when tourist numbers are expected to rise—such as during graduation trips and spring break—we will operate the shuttle bus with the goal of promoting Yomitan Village’s appeal and contributing to the area’s visitor traffic by making stops at spots where guests can experience Okinawan culture, enjoy the region’s attractions, and shop for souvenirs.

In addition to vegetables and fruits delivered directly from farmers in Yomitan Village, the market features souvenirs made with ingredients unique to Okinawa and Yomitan Village. Since it also sells prepared foods, boxed lunches, and sweets, it’s a popular spot that’s bustling every day, attracting not only tourists but also many locals.
Yachimun Village
We also recommend looking for your favorite Yachimun pieces as souvenirs or mementos of your trip.
"Yachimun" is the Okinawan dialect term for pottery. In Okinawa, where pottery has long been a thriving craft, pottery studios used to share climbing kilns. At Yachimun no Sato, you can see a communal kiln used for Yomitan-yaki pottery, topped with Okinawa’s distinctive red roof tiles.
With some 50 pottery studios lined up side by side, you can pick up and examine unique pieces of “Yachimun” and purchase them as souvenirs or mementos of your trip.
World Heritage Site: Zakimi Castle Ruins, Yuntanza Museum
The museum also features exhibits that children will enjoy.
It is characterized by its stone gate and beautiful contours. In addition, the adjacent Yuntanza Museum (admission fee required) features exhibits detailing the Zakimi Castle ruins and showcasing folk artifacts, allowing visitors to learn more about Yomitan’s natural and cultural heritage.
