"Jinta," the whale shark kept at the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, will mark 30 years in captivity on Tuesday, March 11 of this year. We are pleased to announce that we have planned exhibits and various events related to Jinta’s time at the aquarium.

Jinta Coloring Page Exhibition

*1 What is the “Traveling Jinta Project”?
This project, commemorating the 30th anniversary of “Jinta”’s care, has been underway since April of last year. Over the course of a year, a life-size Jinta tapestry is touring the country in a relay-style format, primarily visiting 13 hospitals and special education schools nationwide that participated in the “Remote Learning” educational outreach program.
On Wednesday, March 5, from 2:40 p.m. to 3:10 p.m., we will livestream online for the children at hospitals and special education schools across the country who submitted “Jinta coloring pages.” The livestream will feature the “Jinta coloring pages” on display and show Jinta being fed a Jinta cake made from krill.
Digital Stamp Rally
