However, with a recent update, coupons I’ve already earned are now automatically applied at the time of booking. This prevents me from forgetting to use them and makes the process much more convenient.
A system that automatically selects the best-value coupon
When you proceed to the booking step, the system will automatically apply the most advantageous coupon from those you have on hand. For example, if you have a 10% discount coupon and a 5% discount coupon, the system will automatically apply the 10% discount coupon. This way, you no longer have to worry about which coupon to use.
You can also change coupons manually
Even though coupons are applied automatically, there may be times when you want to use a specific coupon (for example, to combine it with another promotion). In such cases, you can manually select or change a coupon during the booking process.
Don't forget to get your coupon
Since this feature “automatically applies the coupons you’ve claimed,” be sure to claim your coupons. In particular, if you plan to make a reservation on Rakuten Travel but haven’t decided yet whether to book a package or individual accommodations, it won’t hurt to claim all the coupons just in case.
