Bise Fukugi Namiki Sightseeing spot, Motobu-cho, Okinawa Power spot

Bise Fukugi Namiki, located northwest of Motobu Town, Okinawa, is a residential area where people still live before it is a tourist attraction, and a sacred land that has existed since the days of the Ryukyu Dynasty.
The rows of Fukugi trees, each over 300 years old, are "living guardian deities" that have protected the houses as windbreaks. Although it is not a flashy sightseeing spot, from the moment you step into the path, you will begin to feel nostalgic and relaxed.

Recommended for

Those who want to leave the hustle and bustle and face nature in peace and quiet.
Those who want to experience the history and lifestyle of Okinawa.
Those who value the healing that comes from walking.

A "living landscape" where history and daily life intersect.

Bise Fukugi Namiki Sightseeing spot, Motobu-cho, Okinawa Power spot

The fukugi trees of Bise are a precious gift entrusted to us from the ancestors of the village to the present day. The trees, which started out as small seedlings, have intertwined with each other's roots, and eventually have grown into large trees that watch over the lives of the people. The rows of trees give visitors a sense of connection with "a larger current beyond their own existence.

It is not a "landscape to see," but a "landscape that has lived with us," a place where one must be prepared not as a tourist, but as a visitor.

The Meaning of "Silence" for Children

There are views that can only be seen by walking. This Bise trail is an environment where you can naturally learn "to cherish nature" and "to have respect for human life" while walking slowly with your children.

The roads are flat, there is little traffic, and you can get around with a stroller, but you will feel a different atmosphere than in bustling tourist areas. But you will feel a different atmosphere than in bustling tourist areas.

Even the sound of rain is beautiful, another view

On a rainy day, a row of Fukugi trees shows its moist beauty. The sound of rain falling on the trees, the rustle of shaking leaves, and the soft light everywhere. The arches of the trees serve as umbrellas, making it easy to walk even on a rainy day. It is a spot where you can spend a time like "taking a deep breath of mind" rather than sightseeing. However, the ground is muddy, so it is recommended to wear clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Gently heading toward the entrance to the village

It takes about 2 hours from Naha Airport by car. It is only about 10 minutes from the city center of Motobu-cho. There are several paid and free parking lots in the village of Bise, but remember that it is a residential area.
There is a parking lot just before entering Bise Fukugi Namiki, so it is recommended to park there and walk around.

Okibura felt "tranquility and gentleness.

As I walked along the tree-lined avenue lined with fukugi trees, the sunlight shimmering through the leaves of the trees gave me the sensation of being enveloped by the forest.

Fukugi trees have served as windbreaks. Even when a strong wind blows, the air on this path is calm, and the leaves of the fukugi softly block the mid-summer sun, making it possible to walk while feeling the coolness of nature.

A place where you feel safe and somewhat "protected". There is value in "just being there" rather than taking flashy pictures. I felt it was such a place.
