The contrast between the dramatic cliffs and the beautiful lighthouse

When you think of Cape Zanpa, the striking contrast between the white lighthouse and the rugged cliffs is what stands out. For a fee, you can climb inside the lighthouse, where a 360-degree panoramic view unfolds from the top. The sheer power of the blue sea as seen from the cliffs is truly breathtaking.

The area around the lighthouse is a popular spot for taking photos, and it takes on a particularly romantic atmosphere at sunset.
Featuring a grassy field and large playground equipment! A family-friendly spot where kids can play freely

Zanpa Misaki Park features a spacious lawn area and large playground equipment, such as a roller slide. It provides a safe environment where children can run around freely, and with benches and a gazebo available, it’s perfect for families. It’s also ideal for picnics where you can enjoy the sea breeze or for a leisurely stroll.
A massive Shisa statue that overwhelms visitors with the presence of a guardian deity

In one corner of the park stands a massive Shisa statue, approximately 7 meters long and 4 meters tall. The Shisa, beloved as Okinawa’s guardian deity, has a truly impressive presence and is a hugely popular photo spot. Children, in particular, are amazed by its size! It serves as the park’s symbol.
Easy to get to from Naha! Perfect for a road trip

It’s about an hour’s drive from Naha Airport. Head north on National Route 58, and once you enter Yomitan Village, just follow the signs to arrive without getting lost. Free parking is available near the lighthouse and the park. If you’re taking the bus, we recommend getting off at the “Yomitan Village Hall” stop and taking a taxi from there. It’s also a popular driving route.
A place brimming with Okinawa’s natural beauty and the warmth of its people

The view from the lighthouse is beautiful, and I absolutely love this spot because the townscape of Yomitan Village has such a quintessential Okinawan feel ♡ I was amazed by the dramatic cliffs and the crystal-clear water—even though it must be quite deep. I was especially surprised by the sheer presence of the giant Shisa statue! The Shisa’s butt is cute too, so be sure to check it out! I exchanged greetings with some locals, and the atmosphere in the park was so warm—it’s a place I’d love to visit again.
