The private villa complex 【AO nakijin】, which held its grand opening on April 1, 2025, is a hideaway for adults nestled in Nakijin Village in the northern part of Okinawa’s main island. The resort features two villas, Yanbaru and Amahaji, standing side by side. Perched on a hilltop, they offer views of the Yanbaru Forest right before your eyes and the Okinawan sea in the distance, and each comes with a private heated outdoor pool. It was a luxurious villa where I could forget the hustle and bustle of daily life and recharge.

A unique exterior and meticulously designed interior

A beautiful exterior that catches the eye

We stayed at the Yanbaru Terrace at AO Nakijin. It features a sophisticated design that blends harmoniously with nature. The building has a triangular shape, and you can tell from the exterior alone that a great deal of care went into its design.

Surrounded by the lush greenery of Yanbaru, the white exterior walls and the light streaming in through the large windows create a sense of escape from everyday life the moment you arrive. As soon as you step inside the villa, you’ll be taken aback by the depth of the view and the sense of openness.

Common areas where you can relax in a spacious setting

At the heart of the villa, the kitchen, dining area, and living room flow seamlessly into one another, creating a layout that’s perfect for group trips.

The interior, unified by a sophisticated color scheme centered on a pure asphalt gray, creates a comfortable and relaxing space.

There's also a relaxing area on the terrace. The view of Yanbaru from here is great, too!

Guest Rooms That Combine Comfort and Design

There are bedrooms on the first and second floors. Each offers a sense of privacy, as if it were a separate room, and there are two restrooms.

The second floor has only a bedroom and a bathroom. This makes it ideal for family trips or groups of friends who want to enjoy their stay while maintaining privacy. Both rooms are equipped with large TVs.

All the furniture and appliances are top-of-the-line. From Balmuda products to stylish sofas and lighting, every item has been carefully selected.

A Luxurious Stay Where You Have the View All to Yourself

A private pool with a panoramic view of Yanbaru

The biggest draw of AO Nakijin is, without a doubt, its private pool. Since the water is heated in the winter, you can enjoy it all year round. Whether it’s a morning swim while basking in the sunrise, a dip as the sun sets, or a night swim under a star-filled sky, the pool takes on a completely different atmosphere depending on the time of day.

Facilities that combine convenience with a commitment to quality

The kitchen was fully equipped with everything from dishes to seasonings. Although they’re not shown in the photo, there was also a plug-in griddle and a takoyaki maker! It looks like it would be perfect for a long-term stay.

The microwave, kettle, and toaster are all made by Balmuda. By the way, the air purifier is also a Balmuda.

Of course, we have a washing machine and dryer. Long-term stays are no problem.

VOD is perfect for those who tend to stay in their rooms. Sure enough, it was there.

There are two parking spaces, which are, of course, free. Wi-Fi is available, making it ideal for workation.

Meal plans are also available

In addition to room-only stays, we also offer plans that include dinner and breakfast.

We opted for a room-only stay this time. That’s because there were several restaurants within a 15-minute drive, and we wanted to take the opportunity to enjoy the food there.

The grand opening special offer is amazing.

Official WebsiteFor a limited time, if you book by April 30, 2025 (tentative), you can use the special opening coupon “ao_20off” to stay for 20%OFF. This allows you to stay at an attractive rate starting at 15,000 yen per person for a group of four.

With this level of quality at this price—even if it’s only for a limited time—it’s an offer you can’t pass up. After all, for a villa of this size, it wouldn’t be surprising if the rate were over 50,000 yen per person.

You can make reservations on the official website. Don't miss out.
