This time, I stayed in a “Japanese-style room” with the pleasant scent of Ryukyu tatami mats. The open feel of the earthen floor and the space adorned with Bingata and Yachimun allow you to truly experience Okinawan culture firsthand. As I lay on the tatami mats gazing at the greenery in the courtyard, I felt time slow down, and the fatigue of daily life simply melted away.

The bathroom in the Japanese-style room is truly a premier spot for relaxation. As the leaves of the Fukugi tree sway outside the window, you’ll feel as if you’re bathing in the middle of a forest. With birdsong as your background music, you can enjoy a blissful bath without being disturbed by anyone.

The Western-style room we were shown featured plaster walls, creating a warm, sophisticated, and mature atmosphere.

In particular, the orange-hued bathroom—reminiscent of a luxury resort in Africa—offers a truly breathtaking escape from the ordinary. The light streaming through the connecting corridor shifts its character as time passes, transforming every moment into something special.

When I walked into the room, I found a warm, handwritten message from the owner. Little gestures like this show just how much they value each and every guest.

The amenities also included cosmetics made with ingredients sourced exclusively from Okinawa Prefecture. They had an amazingly pleasant scent, and the next morning my skin felt moisturized and my makeup went on flawlessly. Another great feature is that the room is fully equipped with the latest amenities, such as a ReFa hair dryer.

The small decorative items and artwork placed throughout the inn showcase the owner’s refined aesthetic sensibility. The night sky visible from the inn’s terrace is so dense that it makes the universe feel within reach. Spending time gazing at the stars in the silence is the ultimate luxury—an opportunity to reflect on yourself.

A light breakfast made by the owner that warms both body and soul

The light meal served this time was juicy (Okinawan-style mixed rice) rice balls handmade by the owner. When enjoyed with the mild-flavored black soybean tea, they gently awaken your body after waking up. A far cry from a lavish buffet, this “just-right meal”—packed with quality ingredients and love—truly symbolizes the style of this inn.
