THE BREAKFAST HOTEL Porto Ishigaki Island

As long as the breakfast is good, a hotel is generally fine. This is Kazunari.

Someone in the travel industry told me, “If you’re going to Ishigaki, I highly recommend the breakfast at Breakfast Hotel Porto Ishigaki!” I happened to have the chance to stay on Ishigaki Island for one night on a business trip, so I booked a room that included breakfast!

All-you-can-eat options include Ishigaki beef roast beef rice bowls, seafood rice bowls, Yaeyama soba, and taco rice.[Meat, Fish, Noodles]For students on sports teams, this is the kind of food that really gets you pumped up. I was so happy I ended up eating everything twice. The room rates aren't too high, and it's in a convenient location, so I highly recommend it!

Hotel Exterior and Atmosphere

THE BREAKFAST HOTEL Porto Ishigaki Island
It opened in 2022, so it’s a very beautiful hotel. The hotel building is in the foreground, and the condo building (with a kitchenette) is in the background. There are 119 rooms in total.

This is what the hotel building's entrance looks like.

There was also a coin-operated laundry facility and vending machines inside the hotel.

Guest Rooms

THE BREAKFAST HOTEL Porto Ishigaki Island
I made a reservation for myself while on a business trip, and even though the only rooms available were triple rooms, the rate was the same as for a single room, so I got lucky. There was a TV—I think there was VOD, too... I can't remember. The sunset was beautiful that day.

Yeah. It's totally fine. Spacious resort hotels are nice, but I also like compact rooms with a combined bathroom and toilet.

Breakfast (the BREAKFAST)

THE BREAKFAST HOTEL Porto Ishigaki Island
I’d been looking forward to the breakfast buffet all night! On this day, they served A5-grade premium Ishigaki beef roast beef. There were plenty of toppings, too, like garlic chips and sauces. What a treat to be able to enjoy a roast beef bowl first thing in the morning—especially when it’s high-quality Ishigaki beef. My stomach is already happy this early in the morning.

You can even make your own seafood rice bowl! I was expecting just two or three kinds of sashimi, so I was surprised to find there were six! That day, the selection included tuna, irabuchā, red snapper, squid, salmon, and meibai. If you find the bowl too heavy, you can also opt for a combination of rice, miso soup, and sashimi! My dad would probably say the sashimi platter is just the right amount.
THE BREAKFAST HOTEL Porto Ishigaki Island
Speaking of Ishigaki, you can enjoy all-you-can-eat Yaeyama soba there! Don’t forget to add some island (Yaeyama) kamaboko as a topping.

There are also four kinds of Genki drinks that you can only find in the Yaeyama Islands! Since you can drink Sanpin tea—the one on the right—anytime on the main island of Okinawa, I took the opportunity to try Genki Cool. I think I felt great all day that day (or maybe I’m just imagining it).

There were also various kinds of bread and dishes like taco rice.

Okibura Reviews

Since I was staying on Ishigaki Island for one night on business—and had been working all day—I was really looking forward to the hotel breakfast. I was surprised by how delicious it was and how varied the selection was—it exceeded my expectations.

While even some resort hotels serve just average food, I was really impressed by the incredibly delicious breakfast at this compact hotel.

The Remote Islands Terminal is about a 10-minute walk away, and the city center is about a 5-minute walk away. It's in a relatively convenient location. It's just the right distance from the city center, so,It was very quiet at night.

Next time, I want to bring my girlfriend along so she can eat her fill. If any of you are planning a trip to Ishigaki Island, be sure to add this place to your list!

The food was so good—it was the best! And since check-out went so smoothly, it was great value for the money!!
