Naganu Island is a remote island like a foreign resort that you should visit at least once if you are in Okinawa. It takes 20 to 30 minutes one way from Naha Tomari Port.
It is a small island and you can see the ocean wherever you are. You can enjoy swimming and marine activities to the fullest while preserving nature.
First-time visitors may have many elements of anxiety, so we will introduce the flow of the day's events with photos and maps.

Place of departure
The line gradually begins to form from those who have completed the registration. When we went to Naganu Island, we started from about the position shown in the map below. It is about a one-minute walk from the reception desk.
Since we arrived early, we were allowed to cool off in chairs in a building near the ship's departure point. Once on the boat, it takes about 20 minutes to arrive!
Naganu Island Landing
Even before you get off the boat, you will be impressed by the blue of the ocean. Even on the boat, other passengers are saying, "It's so beautiful! It's so blue! Blue!
Naganu Island is an uninhabited island with an area of 196,000 m2 and an east-west dimension of approximately 1.7 km. The center is an accessible and swimmable area. The left and right ends are off-limits for safety management and environmental protection.
It's really too blue...
Inflating the floats I brought with me!
I was going to give up if there was no air, but it was there. It was here that I first noticed that there was a hole in the floatation ring. I borrowed duct tape from the staff lol (the tape didn't come off until the end and was disposed of at home).
Snorkel sets and other rental items can be rented on site.
Beautiful sea of Naganu
There is a jellyfish prevention net, so small children are also welcome. However, it is hot in summer, so be careful of heat stroke!
I took a lot of pictures, but that's about it for this article. Please visit the site!
beachside clubhouse
With the light meal plan, you can exchange your ticket for a meal at the beach house. We had curry and yakisoba. They tasted really ordinary. But we were sweating and wanted a salty taste, so it tasted really good. It was like a sauna meal. And everything tastes better when you eat it while looking at the blue ocean.
The Coke was the best I've ever had on Naganu Island! And there's no air conditioning. If you can drink alcohol and are not driving home, please have a beer! You will feel like a celebrity in a beverage commercial! You'll be like, "Phew!" or "Koooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! or "Kooooooooooooooo!
Photo Spot
Swings are set up in front of the beach house.
If you keep this photo as well, it will be proof that you have landed!
Day trip to Naganu and a great stay in Naha.
If you are not renting a car and are staying in a hotel in Naha City and sightseeing in the area, just including Naganu Island in your itinerary for one day will make your trip much more satisfying. On the main island of Okinawa, the further north you go, the more beautiful the ocean is, but don't forget the option of taking a boat from Naha to the outlying islands. Considering the rental car fee, round trip time to distant places, and proximity to Naha Airport, some people will find it cosmetically pleasing.
Namie Amuro's filming location
Fans may know that Namie Amuro's last location was filmed on Naganu Island. That scene where she watched the sunset with five yellow roses was shot on Naganu Island.
Naganu Island Notes
There is no barrier-free access, and the pier and the ship are separated from each other.
No large items such as cooler boxes, folding chairs, etc. are allowed.
No food or beverages are allowed on the island (there is a dining terrace where you can eat).
Both ends of the island are off-limits.
For other information, please refer to the official website or call the office.
Review of Okibara
Naganu Island is a remote island that can be easily visited, taking only 20 minutes by ferry from Naha Tomari Port. When I first visited the island, I was overwhelmed by its blue color. Not to mention the beauty of the beaches, the whiteness of the sand and the clarity of the sea are truly amazing.
It is a perfect place for a day trip and allows you to enjoy a resort atmosphere in a short time. The prices are reasonable, and it is the perfect spot for a quick and easy way to refresh yourself. I especially recommend it for those who like snorkeling and relaxing on the beach!
Also, dinner after returning to Naha exhausted from a day of sunbathing is delicious! LOL!
