A lodging where the island breeze flows through, blending seamlessly with nature
"Blue, Turquoise, White, and Okinawa," built in Onna Village, Okinawa, to harmonize with the natural surroundings, was designed by architect Takushi Nakamura. It is characterized by an exterior in Okinawan red earth tones that blends unobtrusively into the landscape, and an open, double-height structure that allows the island’s breeze to flow through.
The entire building is a “wind tunnel”
This inn has almost no doors or windows. Instead, it is designed so that the natural breeze connecting the sea and the mountains flows freely through the building. Without relying on air conditioning, the breeze itself gently envelops the air inside the rooms.
The Flickering of Wind and Light Reflected in the “SUIBAN” Water Basin
In the central water feature (SUIBAN), the wind blows and light streams in at different times of day, creating magical moments when the water’s surface shimmers against the ceiling. It is a space where the rhythm of nature itself becomes the “performance.”
The Prayer for "A Moment's Rest" Embedded in the Architecture
This inn was founded out of a desire to offer “a moment of respite” to children with serious illnesses, their families, and anyone feeling lost in life. It is a place where, enveloped by the breeze and prayers, your heart feels instantly lighter. That is “Blue, Azure, White, and Okinawa.”
Simple, serene guest rooms that embody the spirit of Ashagi
A Sacred Entrance to Be Greeted With Upright Posture

To enter the guest room, you pass through a low doorway modeled after the Okinawan ceremonial space known as “Ashagi.” You naturally lower your posture, your mind calms, and you feel as though you are stepping into the space with respect. The act of “passing through” itself feels like a switch that takes you from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Instead of room numbers, the rooms are named after common Okinawan surnames.
A 28-square-meter modern Japanese-style space where you’re enveloped by the breeze and silence

The guest room is a 28-square-meter modern Japanese-style space that can accommodate up to four guests. It consists solely of tatami mats and a sink, featuring a thoroughly minimalist design with no television or clock. If you listen closely, all you’ll hear is the sound of the wind, your own breathing, and the presence of nature.
Calm Your Mind: The Extraordinary Sense of Gravity Created by an 8-Meter “Wind Tower”

In the center of the room, a “kajituchi”—with a ceiling height of up to 8 meters—soars upward, allowing the wind to flow freely through the space. Its visual impact is breathtaking, creating a sensation as if one were being drawn into nature itself. This design evokes a sense of “prayer” and “the power of silence” within the space.
By deliberately stripping things away, my mind becomes clearer.

We’ve eliminated televisions, clocks, and other noise-making devices to encourage a sense of “order.” It’s a richness that deepens not by adding things, but by subtracting them. Your senses become sharpened, and your mind quietly returns to the “here and now.” That is the guest experience you’ll find here.
A Moment on the Terrace of Light and Wind, Where Time Stands Still
The terrace on the second floor is a special place where time flows quietly, far removed from the hustle and bustle of daily life. With its excellent views, spending time there from morning until dusk, gazing at the ever-changing sky, is truly the “luxury of doing nothing.”
Relaxing in the breeze with a cold glass of Sanpin tea and an Orion beer

Next to the terrace is a common room equipped with a refrigerator, where water, Sanpin tea, and Orion beer—provided for each room—are kept cold. As you feel the breeze from outside, enjoy the laid-back Okinawan pace of life with a cold drink in hand. Just that alone seems to soothe your soul.
The time when the sunset turns into magic
I especially recommend visiting at dusk. The moment the low-setting sun peeks through the buildings is a scene of such beauty that the sky, light, and breeze seem to become one. When you’re here, you might even forget the passage of time.
Be soothed by the tropical scenery and relax in a private bath
This private bath—a rarity in Okinawa—features a semi-open-air design with views of tropical plants and the sky. The bathwater, prepared fresh for each session, is made from moon lily. It’s a gift from nature said to have antibacterial properties, promote healthy skin, and induce relaxation.
The tranquility and comfort were more than enough to soothe the weariness of everyday life. It was truly a place where I could spend some “time pampering myself.”
Amenities that showcase thoughtful attention to detail
When using the private bath, bath towels, face towels, pajamas (separate tops and bottoms; children’s sizes available), and indoor slippers are provided. In addition, each room is stocked with mineral water, Sanpin tea, and Okinawan brown sugar—perfect for relaxing after your bath.
In addition, the hotel offers a full range of products that women will love—makeup remover, facial cleanser, toner, and moisturizer—so you can stay with peace of mind even if you arrive empty-handed.
The thoughtfully curated items, neither too many nor too few, add a touch of warmth to the simple inn's interior.
A Homemade Okinawan Obanzai Breakfast to Start Your Day Right

The breakfast at “Blue, Azure, White, and Okinawa” is the “Ma-san BREAKFAST,” which gently awakens both body and mind.”
“Ma-san” means “delicious” in the Okinawan dialect. Featuring seasonal island vegetables and other fresh ingredients from local farmers, our carefully prepared obanzai dishes are both visually appealing and full of flavor, offering a selection of dishes that will set the tone for your day right from the morning.
Enjoy the island’s bounty with all five senses—delicious flavors and vibrant colors

All the vegetables are freshly picked that morning and sourced directly from local farmers. Prepared with a focus on bringing out the natural flavors of the ingredients, the dishes are filled with a gentle warmth that soothes the body. The vibrant presentation showcases the natural colors of the ingredients, making for a breakfast that’s “a delight to look at and a pleasure to eat.”
A casual breakfast experience where you can savor the morning air
One of the unique features of this inn is that meals aren’t served in a fixed location—you can enjoy them wherever you like, whether indoors, in the garden, or on the terrace. You can choose based on your mood or the weather—perhaps enjoy a meal on the terrace like a picnic, or spend time in the garden listening to the birds sing.
Enjoying a leisurely breakfast with a loved one while watching the ever-changing colors of the sky and shapes of the clouds was truly a “joyful escape from the everyday.”
Spend quality time together in the "Mizuno no Ba" living and dining area
After breakfast or a bath, head to the inn’s common area, “Minna no Ba.” This open, tatami-mat-floored living and dining area is a space where you can enjoy casual interactions with other guests and conversations with the staff.
Whether you’re spending time alone or with someone else, you can relax and be yourself here. It’s a place where you can leisurely enjoy the “continuation of the morning.”
A Soothing Experience with Ryukyu Herbal Steam, Surrounded by the Bounty of the Beautiful Island

The “Chura-shima Steam Chair (Ryukyu Herbal Steam)” treatment I experienced during my stay at the inn was truly a moment to say “thank you” to my own mind and body. It was a time to slowly feel the power of Okinawa’s soil and plants through my skin and my breath. It was a chance to treat myself to a little luxury and pamper myself. This kind of experience is something unique to this inn.
Warm from the inside out with Okinawan red clay and the benefits of herbs

You’ll sit in a special chair crafted from “Yachimun,” a traditional Okinawan craft. The steam rising from below is infused with a generous blend of pesticide-free herbs grown in Okinawa, such as Ryukyu mugwort, moringa, shell ginger, and rose hips.
As I was enveloped in the steam, I felt a gentle warmth slowly spreading from the core of my body. The minerals in the red clay, the natural scents, and the warmth of the steam gently soothed my entire body.
A time to return to oneself in the stillness

The experience lasts about 40 minutes (7,500 yen; reservations required)
Sitting alone in a quiet room, taking in nothing but the sound of the wind and the scent of herbs—this moment was truly a “detox” for both my mind and body. Afterward, my skin felt smooth, and my body felt light and airy.
I highly recommend this as a way to take some time for yourself. It’s the kind of experience I’d especially encourage anyone who wants a trip that’s not just about “staying somewhere” but also about “rejuvenating” to try.

A Single Night of Deep Healing That Unwinds Your Mind

With its blue, azure, and white hues, Okinawa was a place to stay that truly allowed you to reset your mind and body, centered on the themes of “escapism” and “coexistence with nature.” It was a luxury to lie on the tatami mats in a quiet, digital-free space, listening to the sound of the wind.
The staff’s hospitality was so warm that, even though it was just a one-night stay, I found myself feeling strangely and deeply rejuvenated.
Since this is a lodging that lives in harmony with nature, here are some things we want you to know

"Blue, Azure, and White: Okinawa" is designed to seamlessly incorporate the natural breeze, light, and air, offering a sense of comfort that cannot be experienced in an artificial, enclosed space. At the same time, the inn is surrounded by Okinawa’s natural environment—subtropical forests and the local climate—so depending on the season and weather, you may encounter insects.
While we do provide insect repellent and other supplies, given how close we are to nature, we would be delighted if you could view the presence of insects as “part of your time here.” That is part of this place’s charm and contributes to a stay that brings you closer to nature—an experience you can only have here.
