"Nakijin Soba," which reopened in March 2025, is a popular soba restaurant located in Nakijin Village, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Yanbaru region in northern Okinawa Island. As you pass through the entrance lined with Fukugi trees, you’ll find a 70-year-old traditional Ryukyu-style house. In this nostalgic setting, where the soothing sound of wind chimes echoes, you can enjoy Okinawa soba with its refined broth. Savoring the soba on the newly built terrace while feeling the Yanbaru breeze is an exceptional experience. Treat yourself to a luxurious moment by enjoying a set meal that includes dishes like juushi and homemade brown sugar pudding.

An old Ryukyu-style house standing at the end of a path lined with Fukugi trees

Nakijin Soba is a charming, 70-year-old traditional Ryukyu house that appears as you walk down a path lined with Fukugi trees, surrounded by lush greenery. With its tiled roof and the warm feel of wood still intact, the building offers a serene atmosphere where time seems to stand still.

The shop is decorated with retro Showa-era electric fans and wind chimes, creating a warm and soothing atmosphere that makes you feel as if you've stepped into your grandmother's home.

In addition, the terrace seating—added during the 2025 renovation—offers prime seats with a sense of openness and a pleasant breeze. On sunny days, you can enjoy a leisurely meal while taking in the natural beauty of Yanbaru.
Elegant Okinawa Soba with Aguu Pork and Bonito Broth
Nakijin Soba is known for its “soup made with Aguu pork and bonito dashi” and its “homemade noodles.” The soup had a slightly stronger pork bone flavor. However, it wasn’t overwhelmingly intense, so I think even beginners to Okinawa soba will find it easy to enjoy. Apparently, the noodles are aged for 48 hours. They have a smooth, slippery texture that slides down easily and pairs perfectly with the soup!
